If you are in the Northeast you know there is a stomach but/virus that is going around that hits you hard. Well I got hit hard with it! I was dehydrated and ended up needing to go to urgent care. They gave me a bag of IV fluids and boy did that make me feel a lot better.
While feeling better with that, I feel this weekend and may have fractured my toe. If someone can sage my aura that would be great cause it’s been a MONTH!
What I Finished Reading
Look Out for the Little Guy by Scott Lang - 4 Stars
This was a cute little tie in to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was basically a recapping of the movies but it also had some extras from Scott’s point of view. The Stand-In by Lily Chu - 4.5 Stars
I picked this book for a reading challenge of trying to read 12 romance tropes in 12 months. This was an enemies to lovers story and it was so cute and such a fast read.Random in Death by J.D. Robb - 5 Stars
I love this series and I breeze through every book. This time around it was an interesting case that really sucked me in.Emma by Jane Austen - 5 Stars
Emma is my second favorite Austen work. I enjoy the characters and the story. The last few chapters are by far my favorite part of the book, when Emma finally puts it all together that she loves Mr. Knightly. This is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone - 4 Stars
I bought this when it was all over social media but hadn’t picked it up yet. For my library’s reading challenge one of the prompts is to read a book by 2 authors so I finally picked this one up. It was absolutely beautifully written and a wonderful story, but I wasn’t a big fan of the ending.Eligible by Curtis Sittenfeld - 3.5 Stars
I picked this book up too for the enemies to lovers prompt just in case The Stand-In wasn’t something I wanted to read. This was a good retelling of Pride & Prejudice but it wasn’t great, I really had a problem with the Bennetts and how they were portrayed as very stereotypical and just stale characters. But it was a fast read and I did enjoy the story.
